I do believe this is going to become my favorite ninstrumental. Sounds a little Hyperpower!y towards the start and here in the second third or so. Also a bit of a ... video game Coliseum sound? That's the only way I can think of to describe it. Congrats, Pilgrimage - you're the second L Disc to make 5 stars in my book. Wretched was the first.
Very good song to listen to with your head between the speakers laying down I've discovered - headphones don't give the moment due justice. I'm having a mellow kind of afternoon it seems. Hm.
I was going to listen to Y'all want a Single (Korn) and watch the vid, but it's edited. Ugh. Forget that. Guess I'll leave the tube then and listen to my own Korn songs.
Anyone notice the subtle irony in this clip? Single minority black woman walking alone in all the stereotypical places where one really shouldn't go - and it's clear? If anyone knows anything about critical binary oppositions they'll see where I'm coming from. Sometimes it's not what you see, it's what you don't see that speaks the loudest
Got The Life - Korn "You will never see So come dance with me Dance with me Dance with me ..."
Here's two fun bits of trivia for those of you following along at home: 1) This line didn't inspire the dancing scene in TPA. I hadn't even heard it yet when I wrote that. Swear to whoever. 2) Jon Davis dances like I do - headbanging, random arm movements, all-around 'I'm having a goddamn seizure' appearance. He just looks better doing it. As in much better.
Well I confess I actually DID think that to some degree, so there ya go, learnt sth new everyday huh?
As for dancing, that's one hell of a mental image you painted of yourself. I dance like David does. It's called walking with attitude. Sometimes we nod. You should try it sometime *lol* Of course he shows off with the fists and stuff, bleh, I'm no showpony, I'll just walk. Halfheartedly, at that.
What am I listening to? Nothing. Just switched it off. Pfft. Might be time to liven things up with a touch of Rammstein. Way to rouse a sleepy Sunday afternoon in the country I say.
^ Yeah, once I paid enough attention to Got the Life to notice that part I thought, "Hey, I'm clairvoyant!" I suppose it could've been subliminal. But I'm sticking to my story.
BBK - Korn
Still one of my favorite songs by Korn. But I still think he's saying 'Night - so I play; Give me a sign; this is gay.' It's better that way damnit. Like 'I'm praying and I feel f*cking ridiculous for it.' *huffs*
"We’ve never tried to come off as better than our fans, our fans... when they come to see us play, they’re actually a part of, you know, us playing. Sonny, the way he is on stage, he connects with them, emotional and in every kind of way you can imagine, you know, musically, and I think that they can see that it’s not, you know, a put on, it’s not something that’s fake, it’s real." - Mark Daniels of P.O.D.
