Ok well the band started out with James, Lars, Ron and Dave in the band. But due to how Dave was acting when he got drunk, Ron quite the band. Then that's when they found Cliff. So the band new that Dave got violent when he got drunk. So they started to find another guitarist. Which where Kirk comes in and well....they fired Dave. The way they did it was like, Dave was sleeping, and James, Lars, and Cliff sorrounded him and told him "Your fired, get your shi*t and get out". Kinda harsh actually disbelief. So from there Dave made a band called Megadeth and is now Metallica's rival. Followed from there, that is when Cliff had died! The that happened was that they were all in a tour bus and out of no where, the bus slipped over black ice and flipped on the grass. Thus throwing Cliff throw a window and causing his death disbelief no. So they got Jason. And from there, they started to treat him bad. VERY BAD!!!! And well during the making of St. Anger he left to work in a different band. Then he was replaced with TRUJILLO!!!! Another Mexican lol. And there ya go. That is what happened!!

Well...lol anyone know them (dumb question I know)?

I got 2 albums, Ride The Lightning and Death Magnetic. Honestly I think they're overrated. They got good songs, I don't deny that, and they were some sort of pioneers for sure, but I guess it's just that something that's not right with me and them.

Lars Ulrich is IMHO the best drummer in the world, hands down (argue that all you want, won't change my mind) - and I grew up listening to them. Yes they were truly at their peak in their Metallica-Metallica (black) album days, again their best album too, to date. My mum always told me that James Hetfield should have been my father (that was her celeb crush, and I had no problems with that!) and every year for mothers day I go out and but her something Metallica - it's an injoke between us but she trully loves their music, so kudos for the blending of the generation gaps I say!

I really do not like Metallica. That's all I'm going to say.

Metallica are the second most repedative band in the history of music (Behind ACDC). Now, if they would be so kind as to retire and never ever ever ever ever even consider returning I can die a happy music critic!

Amazing band in the 80s...after that bleh.

I'm still both baffled and not so surprised to see them sell so horribly out from the Black album and onwards...
I mean I do like a few tracks from after that like Nothing Else Matters but it doesn't amount to anything in comparison with Master of Puppets or One...

@Rav: I thought the drummer for Rush was the best drummer in the world?...oh well I don't wanna argue.
@Jack and CC: why?
@Heartless: Yeah, you are very true about MOP and One! I mean I haven't heard anything close to them both. Even tho Death Magnetic was a rip off from ...And Justice For All.

They are repedative, and their lyrics make me shake my head thinking "Why?!"
I did sum up my opinion as short as I could without saying "they suck" and nothing else... what exacfly do you want me to explain?

It's an opinion, in my opinion you don't need to explain anything...people have different feelings about different things

Guys keep it civil and on track. We all like or dislike bands for a reason. Showing support or dislike for a band is one thing, we don't need to start hounding each other. Agree to disagree if you must but don't go nuts demanding justification from other members on why they feel certain ways. If you feel that strongly about sharing your opinions may I suggest the PM system or use one another's whiteboards. Failing that you have the spam room - or just drop the subject altogether, okay?
Thanks.

Rav notr meant to offend but that really wasn't getting out of hand. I stated my opinion, Heartless stated their opinion, and I replied explaining my quesiton just in case it needed clearing up. There really wasn't a problem there, it may have been a slight misunderstanding but it wasn't getting out of hand at all as things were explained.
Question: Is it really so wrong to state that a band people tend to like rather then dislike is repedative?

Sorry if that offends you Fav, I just had to say that. If it breaches any rules (I don't think it does but please please correct me if I'm wrong) then I do apologize.

Metallica are awesome. I'm amazed that they're still able to play excellently to this day - still able to compose brilliant music (although the brilliant music may be a minority).

I see that you guys mentioned Master Of Puppets and One but not Fade To Black? Come on!

It's all good Pete, just keeping an eye on things just to be sure. Maybe it was a bit eager on my part but I know how hard sarcasm is to transfer across the virtual realms, and I didn't want to see things get out of hand. So long as you both (you and Heartless) are on the same plain I'm all good with it. No need to apologise. You have free reign to share your opinion by all means. To answer your question, no it's not. Flying against the face of popular public opinion might not win you any friends but if you construct your argument just right you might provoke a good debate on the subject, which when done right is never a bad thing wink.gif

Carry on.

Because my brother in law is a big Metallica and Guns N Roses fan, he downloaded all of Metallica's downloadable content on Guiter Hero 4 and I played a few songs today on the drums. Man, so hard to keep up with the drumming of Metallica's.

Lars is fast. I read somewhere he (used to or still does?) hold the Guiness World Record for fastest best on double bass - that I can believe. Man rocks. Just my humble opinion.
