Rav, my post (along with others) was based on our character's situation before they arrived at The Park. Yours was too. I don't see what the problem is. Difference being we've only posted once or twice, so there's no mention of our characters coming across The Park (as of yet), but you've posted like ten times.

If people don't post often, extend the deadline by one week. You don't have to bust your guts trying to get sh*t done because we don't want to participate yet (well, I do, but I'm extremely busy atm so I can't). Just wait, man. Chill.

Exactly. I think we can take it upon ourselves to extend the deadline since he's not active.

Besides, this isn't all serious business you know. It's supposed to be fun. Don't sweat it.

I'm trying to keep motivated but it's hard when I'm all keyed up to write, I post, like Pete wait for others to respond, and get nothing. You can understand it gets a bit disheartening...

As for extending things I'm not sure where we can - if we 'take over' in DL's absence he may get miffed. But for all intents and purposes I'm just needing some sign it's not 'dead' as Jess put it last week. We're all busy, I'm still working 30+ hours a week outside this site and still manage to post in time, am wondering why others can't at least manage one post per week as we agreed when we started this thing.

You're taking this far too seriously.

I honestly can't. I've been doing artwork and graphics work every night and morning recently. ~10 hours work after each school day. So that's 16 hours of work a day. Believe it or not.

^ Not to sound harsh but try and get beyond what you've taken on board as a personal offence and look beyond that. Yes I'm bummed and yes it's obvious and I don't apologise for sounding a bit miffed, I've put a lot in to this in a little time and done a lot of back ground on this helping start it, would you not be miffed if you were in my predicament? And I DO take writing seriously. In case you haven't noticed I love what I do, and even 'hobby' writing is a serious job for me. I'm a serious analytical person - you do the math as to how I 'should' react.

Now having said all that it has occured to me maybe I'm suffering from what DL was at the beginning - we want to see this work and it's frustrating to see it lag beyond our control. Surely people can appreciate the frustration - it has to come out somewhere. Since he's been lurking but not posting these posts have been for his benefit should he read them.
DL - where are you?
Are you still working on this? Some sign you care would be helpful - if we COMMUNICATE as a TEAM this will work, extentions, frustrations, and all. If people intend to write but don't have time this week don't sit back and say nothing. At least Jess responds and says 'nothing this week' - that at least helps me because right now she's the only one. I can continue on when I know what the rest of you are doing. Don't forget we ALL have lives outside this site/collab. We're all busy/distracted.

Communicate = collaborate.
Right now we don't have either.

Please keep me/us posted if you can't update during the week,
that's simply all I ask!

All good DL - at least now we know - good luck with the paper and if you get a spare minute drop in and throw ideas at us. It's still your project after all =)

Perhaps we could modify the rules once again. Like the AFL, every year they change one rule or another. We don't have to get this perfect the first time.
Let's calm down and talk this through. Maybe there are some modifications worth making that will save this whole thing, it'd be a shame to see it die out.
As I've previously said, a lot of the users on here, whether they are form LPF or elsewhere are a lot more busy then the users posting on the original story. We need to work around this, as well as talk our ideas through with other people so we can include each other in our stories in storylines. That way we can have it flowing more smoothly, and those who are having trouble thinking of ideas (like me) can be helped along by others.
Think about it maybe?

Sure, sounds great - what do you have in mind? Do you think a rough synopsis of our updates will help others know what's going on without having to read through everything all the time?

EDIT:

I just wrote DL (Jason) OUT of The Park temporarily. At the end of his last post there was a new arrival of zombie killers and he left it hanging without explanation so I took it a step further and wrote in my 'catch up' post that he drove out with Leon to investigate. That should give him a reprieve and a chance to write himself back in when he's ready without anyone else needing to explain his continual absence. DL, hope that's okay buddy, just trying to neaten things up =)

Plot wise in my post not a lot happened. But Nick's just 'remembered' he saw David on TV once, on the news, and confronted him about it as my character overhears. David apparently murdered a girl in his past pre-war life and was sentenced to death row (a spin on a few influences, video clips for one and a bit of a sarcastic observation that in a world full of zombies only the bad and tough survive) - so that's really it. He found Jess while he and the rest of the guys were out burying the dead and scouting for supplies. he was apparently going to escape The Park but he changed his mind when he came across her. He brought Jess in and essentially saved her life, a killer with a conscience apparently. Now Jess is in The Park feverish and unconscious but otherwise okay. So Jess you can write about waking whenever you feel like it now.

There's also disease going around The Park that claimed one (NPC/Extra) life. Just so you all know. Doesn't effect anyone else at the moment who isn't in The Park but worth mentioning if your character has some sort of medical training or has seen a disease like this before etc...

Up to how you all interpret it now. Just keeping you all up to date as promised =)

I didn't have anything in mind whe n I posted that, I was more saying perhaps it's something we should discuss.

It's open for discussion.

As I'm the main contributor right now, and people are rather busy with other things, I'm thinking if I keep people posted here it will give them a basic overview of what's going on and people can think of ways to write themselves in or include themselves etc. It's not from lack of trying. As it's almost time for Jess to return maybe she might be inspired to add something now she knows where we/she is up to.

If you're still looking to brainstorm Pete you can open a dialogue here or in the usual places. Should you need, you know where to find me wink.gif

Rav, can I borrow your character for a midnight chat by the river? I want to reveal some of mine's backstory, but I don't want her to do too much introspection. If you want to iron out the dialouge, I should be on AIM all day, but Rae doesn't really need to do anything but ask some questions. Though by now she might want someone to talk to as well, so...

ALSO, who's running the Park, as in the actual, er, fictional compound? Rae, David, Jill, Wesker, and myself are the only ones inside, right? And since I'm unconscious (and mentally disturbed), and Rae and David are the newbs, is it Jill and\or Wesker? Or are we in a lovely state of anarchy right now? devilish.gif

Brendan. Git yer hind end in here so I'll have someone to antagonize. matrixfight.gif

Technically we are without a leader right now, so I'm guessing anarchy (though Jill's probably going to step up and have Wesker as her strongman) but I haven't actually penned anything to that effect, so if you wish to do something go ahead. We also have the NPC Nick that anyone can control, both DL and I use him as a fill-in character when we need someone else to talk to or to b*tch about XD He's a bit two-faced (a bit of a weasel and antagoniser/busybody) so right now he's also there. I've mentioned there are 9 of us all up not including you (DL, Leon, Jill, Wesker, Nick, Rae and David) which leaves room for one more 'extra' for anyone to name or explain or kill off as they see fit.

Yes you can borrow me. I'm more than happy for you to do that. If we catch up on AIM to iron out the details great, but don't let it slow you down from writing if we don't. If we don't catch up before you pen it I don't mind how you use me in terms of dialogue, I'll consider it a challenge to explain or ellaborate it further from my side once you've posted wink.gif

As for Brendan - Have fun when you find him XD

Post done, finally. Much more pleased with this one. Might've kept going, but the ADD started kicking in. "Oh the dogs're barking, better check on them ... Oh, people are talking, I should listen ... Oooh, milkshake ... Pretty butterfly ..." etc. You never know, I might continue a bit more later, but for now I'll content myself with lolcats and the wonders of an easily-distracted mind.

Just to announce it, my character is now conscious and mobile, though still a bit feverish. Anyone wishing to include her is welcome to, just make sure I know what you're doing with her first. smile.gif

Brilliant! Brilliant! Just read it *lol* Glad to see you're finally conscious and 'realtively sane' now XD Sweet. Those three word - how well you encapsulate things. Eager to see where you take this. I'll be waiting. Did I mention the word eagerly? haha

Jess - for the record I will wait another day or so before I begin writing again (as much as I clearly itch to, I'm half way through my days off, I don't want to waste them sitting here waiting obviously) but if I wait til at least tomorrow I'll be relatively content you've said what you wanted to say this update. Who knows, if we continue on soon enough we might even squeeze two or three updates in this weekend, now that would be something different wink.gif

I'm probably done for now, until I have something new to work off of. Like I said, I don't want her to do too much introspection - I'd rather have her work out her problems via communicating with others. I was thinking about introducing a non-primary character for myself, but until the hiearchy of the Park gets sorted out, I'll put it on hold.

Problem is, if you want to explain her back story I can't do that for you. And if you want to progress beyond relaying said info you're going to stall yourself. I won't put words in your character's mouth because I don't know where you want to take her. And as for the heirarchy, as it stands at the moment, unless you beat me to it or someone else does, I'm going to write Jill/Wesker in charge. As this is a collab I don't actually totally control this thing, I'm just keeping it moving while DL's away. If someone else beats me to a post I have to rewrite what I may be working on, period. I can live with that.

As for introducing a secondary character you have to 'get them in' to The Park - or use the last remaining 'extra' I've mentioned but not given a face or a name. I left that open in a 'first come - first served' basis, for this very purpose (anyone else thinking of joining needing a link in or a secondary character to bounce ideas off) So what you choose to do is up to you.

I am kind of hoping you draft up some kind of interraction between Rae and 'Trinity' now but if you don't I can work around it and put my character(s) elsewhere. It's not a roadblock, but again I don't want to take that oppertunity of intteraction away from you - unless you intend to leave it like this for now and maybe expand on later?

EDIT: What do you have in mind to 'work off'??

In my next post I'm contemplating taking us (those that can move) out on a mission again, whether to find DL or to get more supplies. This something you want to do or wait and see if you can come up with something else? Either way's fine with me!

I'd rather get in someone new - maybe someone from my character's past, someone to help her remember. I just haven't decided yet how to get him\her in ... I was actually thinking about a group, perhaps. I just can't decide on that front yet biggrin.gif

I'm thinking that in a place like the Park, there're going to be certain routines, and if 'Trinity' and Rae's routines happen to cross regularly, it would easily let them interact on a basic "hey, how ya doin'" level, and that would make more interesting conversations etc more plausible and simpler to write. Only problem is that right now 'Trinity' is basically bed-bound (though not by her choice) - but since David was watching over her before, perhaps he would continue that? And presumably Rae will loiter around David at some point or another. Just throwing ideas out there, right now I have to go to bed.

If I don't continue 'Trinity's story tomorrow, I will try and get her compadre or compadres to the Park. At the very least I'll introduce him\her\them and get them on their way.

EDIT TO YOUR EDIT, brilliant idea - take people out and have them meet up with 'Trinity's blast from the past. Can you just break it off with seeing a person with a hefty backpack or sth in the distance and sending someone to meet them?

Or if not ... ah, ok, quick stuff. One person, a guy, few years older than 'Trinity', tall, light-haired, comes across as a country bumpkin, but maybe provide some situation for him to show his shotgun skills and common sense?

Really. Must go. Have fun Rav smile.gif
