Mega-selling rapper Eminem will release not one, but two new albums later this year.
Relapse, the artist’s first LP in four years, is due from Interscope/Aftermath/Shady on May 19. The album’s first single, “Crack the Bottle,” is currently at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Em promises a second album, Relapse 2, is promised before the end of the year.
“A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year,” said Eminem in a statement to Billboard on Thursday. “I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre.”
I was excited by this news until I heard Eminem's new single. Why does he have to be such a sell out? Where is all his attitude and aggression from the Slim Shady LP and Marshal Mathers LP hell even The Eminem Show wasn't to bad.
Cool for him. I'm usually only interested in rap when it's presented in crossover music so this barely fascinates me.

Sonny, the way he is on stage, he connects with them, emotional and in every kind of way you can imagine, you know, musically, and I think that they can see that it’s not, you know, a put on, it’s not something that’s fake, it’s real." - Mark Daniels of P.O.D.
