It's very possible I'm just dumb as bricks and can't figure out how to, but is there no way to view poll results without voting? If there's not, that'd definitely be a good feature.

^I've been thinking that too. It's kind of annoying not to see the poll results sometimes. Makes them kind of pointless if you can't tell the votes eh?

I'd like it a lot more if the text, as shown in our posts, was larger. Also, if you restricted each page to say, ten posts, that'd be brilliant. It's currently at what? More than twenty? It's exactly like large segments of text untouched by paragraphs - very daunting to read and very off-putting in general.

Larger text would be irritating. the current size is fine!
the more posts per page the better... the less times you need to click next page to read a thread. Maybe make the number changeable by the user.

I would love to see signature max size for images lowered. The size of the sigs are a little annoying. Some of them are a lot bigger then most of the actual posts on this forum...

I agree with the signature limitations whole-heartedly.

I'm going to have to be a b*tch and say that this size is too big. I like the new banner, though.

This can be done in your User CP. I currently haven't gone through everyone's User CP's but the ones that I have are 20 posts per page. I too was worried that given the new layout and design that the text was too small and I now have changed it to 15 px instead of 11 px. I disagree with the signature limitations as coming from a forum that has a 350 x 175 dimension. The Mod Mother and I agree with the decision of 500 x 300 dimension. Not too large and not too small. But I will lower the character limit on the signatures down to 500 characters instead of 1,000.

Sigs are fine imo. The text is too big now in my opinion, something like 13 px would've been better. But nah, I don't want to be the one complaining if most of the other users are happy now. 20 posts per page is as low as it can get in my opinion - I got a setting on the LPP that shows 40 posts per page and I like that one more than 10 posts per page or something, it's a lot more easier to browse with the maximum number of posts per page.

I'm fine with the posts per page.
I'm fine with the sig size (though agreed some seem to border on 'screen-dominating')
I'm even fine with the text size. For the most part. Maybe drop the text a fraction. But bear in mind with the black background writing too small (or too large!) will create a crap load of eyestrain.
I'm happy to follow the general consensus for the most part.

I've already tried dropping it down a fraction, nup didn't work, mind me I had to manually edit out the forums CSS sheet which was a bugger in itself. The original default of post per pages I found out today was 30 and now I've automatically dropped it down to 20 in which LPF had 25 posts per page which seemed too long in my eyes.

~ We've played around with sizes in the Mod Lounge and decided the sig sizes stay as they are. If they become an issue later down the track we will revisit and assess it accordingly.

~ As for font size Admin has decided to keep it the way it is for now. She is considering playing around with it in the coming days to see if she can come up with a happy medium.

~ The post count per page issue for the most part has already been addressed. As stated twice above by the Admin herself;
This can be done in your User CP. I currently haven't gone through everyone's User CP's but the ones that I have are 20 posts per page.

This should hopefully clear those matters up once and for all - unless future changes are required - in which case, we'll tell you about.

How about a serious discussion area? For discussions are Euthanasia, Sexuality, Religion etc.
I know it may seem similar to the Dark Side but really it's not. Rather an opinion and debate area. I'm sure our users are mature enough to keep everything within the rules.

^That's actually a great idea, was thinking of it myself sometime ago. I'm in for it.

I think it's a great idea too! It would be VERY interesting to have topics like these for discussion! A great opportunity for our members to show they are really mature and open-minded! Let's see what Sarah thinks. :)

We have to be careful with that. Not to say it's not possible (I'm actually all for it) but I know how easy it is to take things out of context on a forum where emotions (like sarcasm for example) are not easily tranfered - and these topics are highly emotive at best. My biggest problem with that would be trying to keep from jumping in every two seconds when someone's risking pushing another's buttons. Yes I know for the most part we are all mature educated level-headed adults here, but as anyone knows outside in the real world there are three things you really shouldn't discuss (unless you're up for the thrill of the ensuing debate) being Sexuality, Politics and Religion. If we're going to open this can of worms there'd have to be some commonsense guidelines - and while that sounds basic enough commonsense differs from person to person like opinions and morals and DNA etc.

I'm almost inclined to say should we start this we may need an 'age filter' in place to keep the youngins out, at best - and members only naturally. That will solve one headache before we get to it. I'm not even sure if that's feasable but we can sure ask. Of course the censor filter stays on but I'd be more inclined as a person to ease up on that rule in a thread like this, primarily because of context - if used in an inappropriate way of course same rules will apply as the reat of the forum. There's a few things we may need to set in place first before and if we do this. Like I said people may think we're jumping too far ahead and tightening the proverbial leash too much, and yes at least on my end, we are. That's not a judgement call on any of you, but the last thing I want to see is someones good intentions blowing up in the faces of others - if we're gonna do this we're gonna at least do it right. That's just my two cents. Sarah may have other thoughts, that's her call of course as she's the one running the show; the final word as always rests with her. As I said, sounds good and I'm all for it. The logistics of course will need to be worked on. Wait and see.

If you look at the 60 Minutes forum there is a topic of Euthunasia (I know cos I posted it.) Any debates do in fact belong in 60 Minutes and it's my bad that I failed to specify it in the summary of each forums. But I am putting it in the 60 Minutes forum as I don't want to create another forum and then the forum will looked a bit clogged up in my opinion, trust me, there is only one more forum I am going to create and the plans are slowly being arranged for it, but none so far for it. But seing 60 Minutes is a topical debate/discussion for subjects, Mods and I will be lurking around there to see if anyone is playing up. We've given out warnings and infractions before, we won't be afraid to do it again if the material is deemed inappropiate.

And as making it a certain age bracket, I say no. Because people know the rules about posting constant swearing and acting childish and should stick to the fact that it is an all ages forum, and I am going to let it remain that way. Because we can't be sure the people joining are really in fact the above age so it's better we have it an all ages forum instead of restricted. And if the youngins' wanna play up, the Mods and I will take immediate action.

I want to let one thing lose in this thread. There will be new rules and new infraction points as of new events have occurred on Quills. We don't mean to be tough, but we have felt like we have had no choice but to introduce newer rules. These rules aren't a major change to the currents ones, just little changes really. They should be up pretty soon, as we know what sudden changes can do to members. But I am giving you guys a warning.

Problem is 60 minutes and the Euthanasia thread are quite different to what I had in mind when I suggested the seperate area.
How can NEWS and SERIOUS DEBATES be considered the same thing? They are in fact very different things. It will only get confusing to have the two in the one place.
Could you at least make another sub board within the 60 minutes for serious discussion? At least on a trial period?
