Jack White punched one of his female bandmates during an alcohol-fuelled night out. The Dead Weather rocker hit Alison Mosshart - who is a member of the group and also in The Kills alongside Kate Moss' boyfriend Jamie Hince - after getting into an argument with her in a New York bar.
The pair - who formed Dead Weather with Jack's Raconteurs bandmate Jack Lawrence and Queens of the Stone Age star Dean Fertita - are both said to be "ashamed" about the altercation and have now resolved their differences.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Jack and Alison went on a mammoth all-day session when they met up in New York. They sunk a lot of alcohol and ended up at each others' throats. It was a one-off scrap and they both feel really ashamed.
"But they are over it now and have promised each other they won't get into that state again."
Meanwhile, Jack is rumored to be releasing a single by his model wife Karen Elson.
The rocker has just launched his own label, Third Man Records, and in addition to releasing Dead Weather material he is also planning to bring out a track by unknown star Mildred and the Mice - rumored to be his spouse.
A description of Mildred on Third Man's website has been dismissed by many as a fabricated story to cover up the singer's real identity.
It reads: "The mysterious goth milquetoast 'mildred' appeared before jack white at a hardware store In Kentucky. She had no demo to give, nor guitar with her, so instead she sang her song "I like my mice (dead)" at the top of her lungs in front of several hardware store customers before quickly walking out Of the store in shy earnest... She hails from the mammoth cave area, but hasn't given the staff an age, or current address! (don't worry we'll be holding her royalty checks here for her.) In fact her mother dropped her off at third man studio for the single session and waited patiently In a winnebago outside the studio until mildred was done recording. Mildred showed up with a very Cool gretsch princess guitar but called it a 'gitch' (sic)."
Karen has previously performed in cabaret troupe The Citizens Band with Rachelle Garniez, who is also set to release a single through Jack's label on the same day.
