"We’ve never tried to come off as better than our fans, our fans... when they come to see us play, they’re actually a part of, you know, us playing. Sonny, the way he is on stage, he connects with them, emotional and in every kind of way you can imagine, you know, musically, and I think that they can see that it’s not, you know, a put on, it’s not something that’s fake, it’s real." - Mark Daniels of P.O.D.
Well it was Shinedown's 'I Dare You' but since I just got a new NIN album, you can count on a resurgence of that. Right now - unfinished preliminary listen - 'The Wretched', 'Pilgrimage', 'Into The Void', Starf*ckers, Inc' (seriously, had it going through my head after one listen), and 'Please' are all looking likely *lol* Yay for Fragile!
I didn't even really like it the first couple listens, but I swear it's been running through my head ever since. Now it's echoing around:
How could I Ever think It's funny how Everything that swore it wouldn't change Is different now Just like you Always said We'll make it through, then my head Fell apart And where were you?
AND I love how the music stops when he takes a breath. I adore tiny details like that. I'm so OCD about music in some ways.
Opeth - The Drapery Falls as well as Bleak by the same band.
Devious movements in your eyes Moved me from relief Breath comes out white clouds with your lies And filters through me You're close to the final word You're staring right past me in dismay A liquid seeps from your chest And drains me away
How can you not love that? Especially with the tone that's sung with and the celestial musical background...

Lisa introduced me to this song as so many others. It's only now almost a year later I actually really appreciate it. I can't stop listening to it in fact...
^I too was introduced to that song just a few months ago, and it's pure, stripped down emotion to say the least.
As for my faves atm...
Dead By Sunrise - Condemned; In The Darkness; Into You Drowning Pool - Bodies Opeth - Blackwater Park; Bleak; The Drapery Falls; The Leper Affinity Tool - The Grudge; The Patient; Reflection

BOOM BOOM - BOOM BOOM - BOOM BOOM. God I love that drum! Old favorite. Always a favorite, really. Hahah, I always felt like 'I should really be all feminist and hate this song, but dammit it's ... beyond catchy' and now I just don't care. I like it. Too bad.
And as a weird runner-up, NIN's The Fragile (song not album) is getting to me recently. Makes me think of a friend was afraid I'd lost, so yeah. "I won't let you fall apart" and all that mushy stuff *sniffle*
I think mines would have to be Master Maqui by Rodrigo y Gabriela! Even tho there are no lyrics to the song it is really something you can dance to besides Drunkship Of Lanterns by The Mars Volta. I mean I like songs that you can dance to regardless who sings it...well it does depend who the band/singer is.
